Emma Watson: The Belle of the Ball

You may know the beautiful actress Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson as the smart, frizzy-haired Hermione from the movie adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, or maybe as the bubbly Sam from The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but recently a new credit has been added to her name.

Emma at the London ‘Noah’ Premier, 2014

Our favourite actress was cast as the main character, Belle, in Disney’s live adaptation of their 1991 film, Beauty and the Beast; where the book-loving daughter of an inventor is imprisoned by a beast. Belle makes friends with the furniture in the castle, before she and the beast eventually fall in love and it is revealed he is a prince cursed by a sorceress!

The film has become a worldwide hit and has beaten Mamma Mia as the highest-grossing live-action musical ever and is the second biggest musical, falling just short of Frozen. It has critics raving, especially with Emma’s newly revealed singing abilities. I would highly recommend going to see Beauty and The Beast.
